Desistance in Theory, Practice and Reality

This workshop will be of interest to His Majesties Prison and Probation Services (HMPPS), Youth Justice, Social Care and Recovery Services that work directly with people involved in prolific offending behaviour.

The training will draw on desistance literature and extensive youth justice practice experience, as well as lived experience of the desistance process.

A multi-dimensional perspective of the process of desistance will be presented. This will include  how to create the conditions that effectively promote the development of positive ‘self-narrative scripts’.
